Michelle is currently a PhD candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Adelaide. She is working on a novel set in Rangoon, 1930 that engages with the stereotype of the Eurasian body as corrupt yet also an object of desire. Her critical research is concerned with authenticity, the skin and how connections between 'skin' and writing impact on the process of creative writing.
