Lars is a lecturer at Cultural Encounters, Roskilde University, Denmark. He was chairman of EASA from 2005 to 2009 and has been involved in Australian Studies since the late 1980s. His research also focuses on the developmental history of Cultural Studies and Postcolonial Studies in the U.K. He also works as part of an editorial team that publishes on Postcolonial Denmark. His approach to the links between Cultural Studies and Postcolonial Studies centres on how modernity, capitalism and colonialism are interwoven, and it is here that his work in Australian Studies has been situated over the last few years. He is the author of Unsettling Australia: Readings in Australian Cultural History (2005) and editor of A Historical Companion to Postcolonial Literatures: Continental Europe and Its Empires (2008). He is currently researching a book on postcolonial Denmark. Most of the work he is involved in is featured on the website, www.postkolonial.dk.
The AASRN is a formal network for academic, community and other institutional groups who research in the area of Asian Australian Studies.
