Calvin Ho

Calvin Ho is a postgraduate student in sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At UCLA, he is working on comparative international research on immigration, assimilation, and ethnic boundary making, with a particular focus on the Chinese diaspora in the West.

For his undergraduate linguistics thesis at Swarthmore College, he did an ethnographic study of a weekend Chinese language school in Buenos Aires, Argentina to investigate assimilation and heritage language loss in that community.

Aside from academic work, Calvin contributes to the conversations on immigration, Asian America, and Asian diasporas on Twitter (@calvinhyj).
